What does ORHH stand for?

ORHH stands for "Ontario Residence Hall Honourary".

So, what is an OTM Award anyway?

An OTM (Of the Month) award is an amazing way to recognize people or programs for their outstanding influence within residence. The person or program that you recognize will be known not only to your school, but to all schools across Ontario!

Why should I nominate someone?

First of all, it allows you to recognize someone for doing something amazing or a program for really influencing residence life! It will make you feel great for letting someone know how great you think they are and it will make the nominee feel appreciated as well as encourage their behaviour. It won't take you a long time and it's very rewarding!

What types of awards are there?

  • Program/Initiative of the month
    • relates to residence students, effectiveness, creativity/originality, involvement
  • Student of the month
    • consistent participation in school activities, outstanding school spirit
  • Professional of the month
    • continuous support to residence students, school spirit, enthusiasm for position

Now, let's walk through the process...

Step One: Pick your nominee!

  • Pick the person/program that you wish to nominate.

Step Two: Brainstorming - Why is this person or program amazing?

  • Think about the past month and why your nominee has gone above and beyond.
  • If you're stuck, don't worry! You can ask other people for ideas and even have them contribute to your nomination or write their own! Remember, you can also interview those closest to the nominee, but first-hand experience is always better!

Step Three: Filing out an OTM Form

  • Get yourself to the ORHA website and start filling out the nomination form!

Step Four: After submission

  • The ORHH Committee will go through all nomination forms and decide who the winner for each category will be.

Step Five: Winners announced!

  • Great job! You made it all the way through the ORHH process! Not too bad, right? Hopefully your nominee won!
